Wellington’s Kiwi Holiday Park offers camping, cabins and motel units in Upper Hutt,
just 30 minutes from Wellington City. These FAQs cover powered sites, tent sites,
cabins, motels, pets, sports teams and long-stay worker accommodation so you can
plan your stay with confidence.
Location & getting here
Where is Wellington’s Kiwi Holiday Park?
We’re in Upper Hutt, about 30–35 minutes’ drive north of Wellington City,
beside Harcourt Park and the Hutt River at 45 Akatarawa Road, Brown Owl,
Upper Hutt, New Zealand.
How far are you from Wellington, Lower Hutt and the ferry?
We’re around 30–35 minutes from central Wellington, 20–25 minutes from Lower Hutt
and about 40–45 minutes from the Interislander and Bluebridge ferry terminals,
depending on traffic.
Camping, powered sites & cabins
What types of accommodation do you offer?
We offer powered and unpowered camping sites, cabins, self-contained motel units
and family motels. You can choose between tent sites, campervan and caravan sites,
simple cabins or fully self-contained motel-style accommodation.

Do you have powered and unpowered campsites?
Yes. We have powered sites for caravans, campervans and motorhomes, plus
unpowered tent sites close to facilities for singles, couples, families and

Do you have a dump station for campervans and motorhomes?
Yes. We have an on-site dump station available for guests staying with us in
self-contained campervans, motorhomes and caravans.
Do you have cabins and motels as well as camping?
Yes. Alongside camping and powered sites, we have standard cabins, family cabins,
cabins on wheels, standard motels, family motels and renovated motels for guests who prefer more
comfort than a tent.
Is bedding and linen included in cabins and motels?
Motel units and cabins on wheels include beds with linen provided. Standard cabins and Family cabins require you to bring your own bedding or sleeping bags, or hire linen from
us. Check the room description when booking or contact us if you’re unsure.
Do your units have kitchens or kitchenettes?
Our motel units include kitchenettes with cooking facilities.
All guests also have access to fully equipped communal kitchen. Please check
the individual accommodation listing for specific kitchen facilities.
Facilities & services
What facilities are on-site?
Facilities include modern communal kitchens and bathrooms, hot showers, toilets,
laundry with washers and dryers, BBQ and picnic areas, dump station, children’s
playground and plenty of parking space. For full details, visit our

Do you have free Wi-Fi?
Yes. Guests receive 5GB of free Wi-Fi per stay, with options to purchase extra
data if needed. Wi-Fi is available around the main facility areas of the park.
Do you have quiet hours or noise rules at night?
We ask all guests to keep noise to a minimum after quiet hours in the evening
so everyone can enjoy a good night’s sleep. Please be considerate of other
campers at all times.
Is there public transport nearby to Wellington and Lower Hutt?
Upper Hutt train and bus services provide easy access to Lower Hutt and
Wellington City. The park has a bus stop right outside our driveway which then goes to Upper Hutt train station.
Our team can help with directions and local transport information when you
arrive.
Pets, groups & longer stays
Are pets allowed at Wellington’s Kiwi Holiday Park?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on selected powered and tent sites by prior
arrangement only. Pets are not allowed inside cabins or motel units. Please
contact us before booking to confirm a pet-friendly site and our current pet
guidelines.
Do you accommodate sports teams and other groups?
Yes, we regularly host sports teams, school groups and clubs. We can combine
motels, cabins and camping options to suit your group size and budget.

Do you offer longer-term or worker accommodation?
Longer stays for workers and contractors may be possible depending on season
and availability. Please contact us directly with your dates, number of people
and preferred accommodation type so we can confirm options and pricing.
Bookings, prices & policies
What are your check-in and check-out times?
Standard check-in is from 2pm for units and from 12pm for campsites, and
check-out is by 10am. Early check-in or late check-out may be possible by
prior arrangement and is subject to availability.
How much do campsites and cabins cost per night?
Prices vary by season, accommodation type and number of guests. For current

What is your cancellation policy?
Do you require a deposit or credit card to confirm my booking?
Most bookings require a valid credit card guarantee or a deposit,
particularly in busy periods or for group and long-stay bookings. The exact
requirements are shown in our online booking engine and confirmation email.
Can I arrive late in the evening if I’m travelling from the ferry?
Late arrivals are usually possible by prior arrangement. Please let us know
your approximate arrival time when you book, especially if you’re coming from
a late ferry, so we can confirm instructions for checking in after hours.
How do I make or change a booking?

we can help and advise you of any applicable terms.
