We’re 28km from the Interislander or Bluebridge Ferry terminal — take the free shuttle to Wellington Railway Station, hop on the train to Upper Hutt, and begin your ride just 15 minutes from our park. From here to Hastings, it’s almost all traffic-light free!

- Hutt River Trail: Gentle walking path with river access and rest stops.
- Pākuratahi Forest:This is home to the rail trail section of the Remutaka Cycle Trail, one of New Zealand’s 22 Great Rides, and a popular biking route for groups and families that follows the old railway line through the Remutakas.
- Kaitoke Swing Bridge Track: The Swingbridge Track is a family- friendly 2 kilometre loop walk that takes about 1 hour to complete.
- Tane's Track Te Marua: An easy loop that takes in native forests, waterfalls, and historic Remutaka railway sites.
- Karapoti Gorge: A more adventurous hike through rugged forest terrain.
- Cannon Point Walkway: Rewarding views over Upper Hutt. Moderate difficulty.
