Wellington’s Kiwi Holiday Park is a well-established, family-run holiday park beside the Hutt River in Upper Hutt, just 30–35 minutes from Wellington City and the Interislander Ferry Terminal. We’re nestled in the scenic Akatarawa Valley, right next to Harcourt Park – a Lord of the Rings filming location (Isengard) – and close to the Remutaka Cycle Trail.
We offer a range of affordable accommodation for couples, families, groups and sports teams, including renovated motels, standard motels, family motels, family cabins, standard cabins and our popular cabins on wheels, plus powered and non-powered camp sites. Guests enjoy free hot showers, free Wi-Fi and a peaceful rural setting with native birdlife, including tūī and kererū.
From the park you can walk straight into Harcourt Park for playgrounds, paddling pool, disc golf and river access, or head a short drive to Upper Hutt attractions such as Brewtown (brewery and entertainment village), H2O Xtream aquatic centre, Maidstone Max playground and Kaitoke Regional Park (Rivendell film site). It’s also easy to take a bus and train into Wellington City for Te Papa, the Cable Car, waterfront and zoo.
We’re an ideal base for exploring Upper Hutt, Lower Hutt, Wellington and the wider region, including the Remutaka Cycle Trail and Wairarapa wine country, while still coming home to a quiet riverside holiday park at the end of the day.
Enjoy a taste of country life in the city!
